Penelope Taynt (Amanda's alter-ego) is a teenage intelligent, crazed, sociopathic, rude, clumsy and mischievous self-proclaimed number one fan. She is portrayed by Amanda Bynes herself.

Personality

Penelope is depicted as an Amanda-obsessed tech wiz. She also has the strange habit of interjecting the word "please" in almost all her sentences (though in her website she mentions that she was always told to say "please" when she wants something, hence 'Amanda, please!' since she wants to meet her real alter-ego). Between segments in every show, she uses some ridiculous scheme to try and meet her real alter-ego, often with the help of Drake, Josh, or her brother Preston, but not to succeed, though she is at times exceedingly close to doing so. Schemes include cloning a real alter-ego from her toenail (but it turns out to be Drake's), having a bloodhound lead her to the real alter-ego by following her scent, and often breaking into her real alter-ego's dressing room. She frequently interviews people who know her real alter-ego in an attempt to be pointed in the right direction. On rare occasions, Penelope violates skits already in progress (Most notably "cooking with me" where she is chased by the security, and steals the pot to try and carry the real alter-ego with her, but her real alter-ego pops up from the hole in the pan). Her brother Preston has met her real alter-ego and in some ways, she asks if she could meet Penelope; Her real alter-ego always says she can't. She once shared a love relationship with Trevor, Barney's son, for a while. However, just as she was about to meet her real alter-ego, she freely gave up the opportunity and kissed Trevor just as the real alter-ego walks by, not seeing a couple. Taynt makes an appearance in the revival of All That, with guest star, Amanda Bynes (who played Ashley in the skit, Ask Ashley), once again chasing after her icon.

Physical appearance

She has black bob hair and her normal outfit consists of a buttoned-up vest, a plaid shirt with gray shorts, alongside nerd glasses, black socks and shoes. She has a tattoo of Amanda's face on her stomach (only revealed once in the series premiere). On the show, she owns a fansite, AmandaPlease.com, which is actually an official website created for the show.

Trivia

• Many views of The Amanda Show have believed that Penelope was played by another person, as both she and her real alter-ego appear on the stage at slightly the same time.
• There were a few times she and her real alter-ego were in the same room together.
  • She's replaced by an actress who was supposed to play a mummy and got her eyes covered with bandages.
  • When she got on stage, she was surrounded by Amanda lookalikes.
  • She was looking for hot sauce for Preston's friends' pizza.
  • When she left the room, she finds a sandwich for Preston.
• Penelope seems to be a tech wiz as she made a website called www.amandaplease.com, a robot, a cloning machine, a giant megaphone, etc.
• Ironically, in the show, Penelope has met or interconnect with all the other main/guest stars but yet to have met her real alter-ego.
• She is revealed to be skilled in martial arts as she was able to stand on equal ground with her real alter-ego's karate teacher, Nikko, for the entire episode.
• Fans thought that Amanda Bynes (who played Ashley in the skit, Ask Ashley) guest starred in the revival of All That, Penelope would finally meet her.
• Once, Penelope was dreaming she won the award for best fansite and got a chance to meet her real alter-ego.
• She has ruined five sketches in the show.
  • She climbed into Amanda's bedroom when Drake and Johnny were in the middle of a pirate skit.
